The award ceremony for the 4th Sevak Mnatsakanyan Educational Award took place at the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport. The award honors Sevak Mnatsakanyan, an ASIPCS alumnus who was martyred during the 44-day war and served as President of the “Shvak” National Martial Arts Federation.

The committee of the educational award competition included ASIPCS Rector Tigran Simonyan, Vice-Rectors Tigran Petrosyan and Vardan Smbatyan, Deans Erik Martirosyan and Artak Stepanyan, Head of the External Affairs and Strategic Development Directorate Anzhela Nushikyan, President of the Students Council Gayane Chiloyan and the competition organizer, Armine Petrosyan, President of the “Hay Dzmer Pap” Journalistic Charity Foundation. Sevak Mnatsakanyan’s friends, as well as members of his family—his father, mother, and wife—were also present.

Applications for participation in the competition were submitted by ASIPCS fourth-year students, Zhenya Kirakosyan and Armine Khachatryan, as well as by master’s student Anna Avetyan.
Before the competition results were announced, the students delivered speeches honoring the life and achievements of Sevak Mnatsakanyan, as a tribute to the martyred warrior who sacrificed his life during the Artsakh war.

Following a thorough review of the applicants’ progress, including documentation of their sports, professional, and volunteer activities, as well as their understanding of Sevak Mnatsakanyan’s legacy, the committee members, voting by secret ballot, conferred 1st place to Armine Khachatryan, 2nd place to Anna Avetyan, and 3rd place to Zhenya Kirakosyan in the 4th Sevak Mnatsakanyan Educational Award Competition.

The educational award is sponsored by American-Armenian benefactor Iren Tsaturyan.
