On October 16, an international forum on the topic “Sport for Peace and Health” was held at the Ani Plaza Hotel, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport.

The goal of the forum was to provide a scientific and professional platform where the role of sport in establishing peace, preserving health, strengthening social solidarity, and developing and strengthening international cooperation is discussed, while contributing to the formation of international partnership and sustainable development.

Within the framework of the event, discussions were held on how sport can serve as a strong and effective tool for unifying communities, preserving health, and establishing intercultural respect.

During the forum, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Academician of the International Academy of Informatization under the UN, Frunz Ghazaryan, spoke on the topic “Pedagogical Issues of Physical Culture and Sport”.

Hrant Avanesyan, Head of the General Psychology Chair of the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology in Yerevan State University, Head of the Experimental Psychology Research Laboratory, President of the “PUA” Professional NGO, delivered a speech on the topic “Psychological Support of Physical Culture and Sport”.

Zhirayr Habibyan, Founder of the “H&K Partners” Law Firm, Member of ICC Armenia, and Tatevik Karapetyan, Director of Resolve Academy, Member of ICC Armenia, spoke about “Perspectives on Sports Law”.

Professor Harutyun Babayan, PhD of psychology, delivered a report on “Problems of Olympic Sport and Olympic Education”, and Anahit Voskanyan, an advisor on tourism product development in the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia and Assoc. Prof. Suren Danielyan, PhD, Associate Professor, presented a report on “Prospects of Sport Tourism Development”.

The topic of the report by Dimitra Papadimitrou, Professor of the Department of Business Administration of the University of Patras, Doctor of Philosophy, was “Modern Challenges in Sports Management”.

The forum was an opportunity to highlight the contribution of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport not only in the training of coaches, athletes and specialists in the field, but also in the development of sports science and education.

As a summary of the jubilee events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Institute, a festive event was organized in the evening at the Aram Khachaturyan Concert Hall in Yerevan with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, members of the Government, guests from abroad, high-ranking officials, representatives of the Institute’s Academic Staff and student body.
