A roundtable discussion was held at ASIPCS with the participation of experts within the field of physical rehabilitation across leading international and Armenian organizations.

In his welcome speech ASIPCS Rector, Professor Davit Khitaryan presented the main topics of discussion. As noted by the Rector: “Today we are going to discuss several basic issues on the specialty “Physical rehabilitation (kinesiology)” including clinical guidelines (protocols) used in the field, the study of international experience and opportunities to implement it as well as the involvement of best physical therapists across rehabilitation centers in the study process”.

The attendees also recognized the need for such events as an important factor in increasing the efficiency of HEI-employer cooperation.

Apart from the representatives from cutting-edge centers of physical rehabilitation located in Armenia and specialists within the field alike, the meeting was attended by Armineh Babikian, founding director of Therapists for Armenia; Nicholas Tavoukjian, founder CEO of the Armenian American Sports Medicine Coalition and Mike Landry, head of the Chair of Physical Therapy at the University of Virginia.

The attendees agreed on the necessity of making such meetings continuous in order to figure out effective solutions to the issues discussed, comprising representatives from the Ministries of ESCS and Health, UNICEF and other interested organizations too.
