Today, Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport hosted a delegation from University College London (UCL). The visit to Yerevan was part of the “Academic City” program and was led by Norbert Pachler, Deputy Dean of the UCL Institute of Education (IOE), who is responsible for quality management, educational programs, and promoting pedagogical innovation.
The visit began with a meeting between the guests and the Rector and Vice-rectors of ASIPCS. In his address, Rector Tigran Simonyan emphasized the HEI’s unique role and its primary mission to prepare highly qualified, knowledge-oriented specialists for sport and sport-related sectors.
Subsequently, the delegation held a series of meetings with representatives of the HEI’s administration and academic staff within various working groups.
Members of the expert group outlined the core idea of the planned enlargement process, which focuses on combining the potential of HEIs, including their scientific, educational, research, and other capabilities. The discussion also covered the necessary steps to minimize potential risks during the enlargement process, as well as the procedures designed to ensure its seamless implementation.
Members of the expert group from abroad, together with representatives of ASIPCS emphasized the significance of the meetings held at HEIs involved in forming the “Academic City” educational cluster, particularly for evaluating existing capacities and identifying needs.
Meetings also included representatives from the “Academic City” Foundation.
