Today, the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport, following the initiative of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, hosted an awareness-raising event as part of a public campaign aimed at fostering a culture of using bicycles as an alternative means of transportation․
The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, the Chairwoman of ASIPCS Board of Trustees, Hasmik Avagyan, and representatives from various departments. They shared key messages with students, lecturers and employees of the HEI on fostering a culture of bicycle use as a daily transport option, observing bicycle safety rules, promoting cycling as an integral component of a healthy lifestyle, as well as recognizing its role as an environmentally sustainable mode of transportation.
As noted by the speakers, thanks to the engagement and activities of multiple governmental bodies at different stages of the public campaign – including the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, the Yerevan Municipality, and regional administrations – it will be possible to promote and strengthen the ideas of a healthy lifestyle and the use of bicycles as an alternative mode of transportation among students and staff of HEIs and VETs.
