As part of the memorandum signed between the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport and the company “Faster First Aid”, a “Safety and First Aid” course was held today for members of the Institute’s teaching staff. Upon completion of the training, participants will become rapid response volunteers capable of providing first aid to individuals experiencing cardiac arrest in public areas.
The training was conducted by Gurgen Hovhannisyan, Director of the company “Faster First Aid”.
The “Heart Safe City” project is implemented through the installation of 50 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in central Yerevan, along with the involvement of trained volunteers who will receive alerts from ambulance operators via a special application and will be able to provide immediate first aid to individuals experiencing cardiac arrest.Having acquired essential first aid knowledge, the training participants will serve as rapid response volunteers, assisting people in life-threatening emergency situations, including cardiac arrest.
The course was held free of charge. Participants will receive certificates and gain practical, sustainable knowledge that can be applied not only within the framework of the project, but also at home, at work, and in everyday life.
As part of the initiative, similar courses for the teaching staff and students of ASIPCS will continue on an ongoing basis.
