At the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Armenia held on January 16, the results of the competition for the position of rector of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport were approved. The competition took place on December 10, 2024.

Based on the competition results, PhD of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Tigran Simonyan was elected as the rector of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport. Tigran Simonyan has been teaching at the Institute since 1996, he was the dean of the Training and pedagogical faculty of the institute and was the
acting rector before being elected as the rector.

After the election results were approved at the government meeting, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan congratulated Tigran Simonyan and wished him productive work.
