At the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport, the Ambassador of India to Armenia, Her Excellency Nilakshi Saha Sinha, was hosted. She participated in the event dedicated to the International Day of Meditation, declared by the United Nations Organization (UNO).

The Acting Rector of the Institute, Tigran Simonyan, welcomed the Ambassador, representatives of the Indian Embassy, yoga experts, students, and other participants. He emphasized the significance of yoga, which has a millennia-old history in India, and highlighted its global following, including Armenia. He mentioned that yoga represents the harmony of the body, mind, and soul, and it is crucial to spread its importance among the broader public. He also pointed out the valuable role of yoga in the Institute’s “Health-improving Physical Culture/Kinesiology” educational program as a component of a healthy lifestyle. “I am confident that our cooperation with the Indian Embassy will yield positive results,” said Tigran Simonyan.

Ambassador Sinha expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and spoke about the importance of yoga. She also suggested the possibility of a memorandum of understanding between the Indian Embassy and the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport to further strengthen their collaboration.

At the end of the event, yoga masters performed demonstration sessions, showcasing the techniques and methods of yoga to the audience.
